We loved this experience! Making the mochi was fun and the tea ceremony was calming and interesting to watch. We were able to choose the bowls we wanted to drink matcha out of ourselves. Every bowls history was explained to us before choosing. The owner of the shop even drew a small picture of our bowls we chose with their names in japanese and english. We felt very welcome and we highly recommend coming here! <3

A perfect experience of Japanese culture: Tea Ceremony and Mochi Forming Experience
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan!
When you have the opportunity to come to Tokyo, we hope you will not only enjoy sightseeing, but also try very Japanese activities.
How about experience both of the tea ceremony and making Wagashi, a Japanese sweets named Nerikiri, a kind of Mochi sweets at an antique store famous among the local Japanese?
Unlike a generic Tea Ceremony or Japanese sweets making experience held in an apartment building room, this experience is taken place in a century-old antique store, which is like a hideaway, hidden gem.
That was one reason our work was featured on CNN.
When you arrive at our store, please take your time to look at the antique tableware first.
Once you have settled in, let's start Japanese sweets, Wagashi experience.
Wagashi in this experiences is called “Nerikiri,” and the main ingredient is Mochi flour.
Our Wagashi forming experience is an easy and fun one, just like colorful clay work, in which we form several colored materials to create a target figure.
Using a variety of colored materials, let's form into the day's theme design, just like colorful clay works.
Even if you have little experience in creative activities or cooking, we will carefully guide you through the process.
Delicately form the colored dough into various shapes by hand, and carefully add lines with tools to perfectly portray "the seasonal beauty of Japan".
Next, move on to a dedicated tea room, experience a tea ceremony while eating your own Wagashi.
In our tea ceremony experience, the room itself is designed to be experienced sitting in a chair.
Once you are settled, you’ll then be served by host with confection followed by (not sweet) real Matcha.
We would “love” to answer your any types of questions.
These conversations are important part the tea ceremony.
The more guests ask, the more tea ceremony will enrich.
【note】
Please understand previously that the host of this experience is not a commercial type of person, but a Japanese artisan. And usually, Japanese real artisan does not speak English well honestly. But we will do our best to make you enjoy this experience.

Reviews
I highly recommend this experience while visiting Japan or if you want to bring friends & family here to learn about traditional Japanese tea ceremonies & make Japanese desserts! Our hosts were delightful & spoke English well too. We loved supporting this family business in Tokyo & it was such a beautiful shop, Japanese tea room, and surrounding area. Every little detail of this experience was well thought out to make the most of your time & savor each moment. They were intentional, patient , friendly, and knew so much about Japanese tea, matcha, & tea bowls! We loved how you could use historic, beautiful, hundreds of year old tea bowls that they switch out monthly to match the seasons! WOW! We decided to buy some tea bowls and 1 tea cup from their shop to remember our Tokyo trip. (Not required but special) We want to go home and replicate a tea ceremony! They helped us learn how to use the matcha powder & their matcha was SO GOOD! Pure, rich, smooth. God bless you!
Worth the experience if possible. Jun was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us as we worked through the mochi session.
The tea ceremony was distinct and felt very special.
We felt like we were a part of tradition, as the shop is actually a family owned shop.
The bowls that are used in the tea ceremony are actual antiques and we were given choices for bowls (each one had its own history attached to it).
I highly recommend this activity!"
Amazing atmosphere and a lot of fun! Right as we arrived, we got a nice welcome and seated at our candy making „stations“. We got to make 2 kinds of candy - a fan and a flower, both made of bean paste (red and white beans). It was super fun and we got guided through thoroughly and ended up making pretty nice designs! The teacher can speak good English and we made jokes along the way. The teacher ceremony part was also a lot of fun and we learned a lot about the history of tea ceremony’s, the importance of matcha and were able to see the whole process ourselves and even participate (in drinking the matcha tea). Overall, it was a great experience and I would book it again if I were to visit Japan with other friends!
The host was delightful. It was a great event.
It was a very teaching and calming experience.
We really enjoyed doing the sweets and watch how tea ceremony is being held.
We had a wonderful experience with a wonderful instructor.
