We took the tour on our first full day in Japan just to have someone introduce us a little to the culture and the city of Tokyo. We had Sam as our guide, a very friendly person, he gave us interesting facts about the locations and answered all our questions. Recommended!

We had the best time on our tour with Sam. It was a worthwhile experience to learn about the culture with a guide rather than visit the various locations ourselves. Sam had a lot of interesting facts and stories about Tokyo and the places we visited that we would have never known without him! Be prepared to walk 20k steps and stay hydrated throughout the day - was a little tough while we were facing jet lag having just landed but it was worth it to get a feel for the city for the rest of our trip! Would definitely recommend for any first timers in Tokyo!

Our guide, Michiko, gave us a fantastic experience. She took us to the main sites in Tokyo and was very attentive to us the whole time. She also made sure to take our pictures in every single spot we visited.
We did a lot of walking and got to know the city's main touristy areas in about 8 hours. We also had lunch at a great place and ended our experience with more knowledge about Tokyo. We highly recommend doing this tour.

The tour was really fun. Our host was incredibly kind and patient. She accommodated us in anyway that she could whether it was getting us more waters or giving us an extra sun umbrella. She was very knowledgeable of Japanese history, culture and religion. The sights we went to were really cool, though we didn’t have much time to spend in each of them given the heavy itinerary. Overall, it’s an amazing experience if you haven’t seen much of Tokyo and want a beginner’s guide.

Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water, you will get your steps in.

We did this tour our first full day in Japan & Tokyo with our guide, Yasuko. She was great! She made us feel very welcome. we loved hearing her stories & about Japanese culture & traditions. There were many things we did & learned that we would not have on our own. it was great to have our day planned our when we were tired & unfamiliar with the city & public transportation. It was a very hot & humid day & Yosuko checked in often & took many breaks. Even our two teenage boys enjoyed the tour & handled the walking! Highly recommend the tour, especially on the first day!

We loved spending the day with Sam in Tokyo! We really appreciated Sam's local perspective. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. We saw SO many spots around Tokyo...Sam really covered it all. It's the perfect tour as an introduction to Tokyo or for people that want to experience a more local experience. Not only did we visit the locations, but Sam took great care to explain the historical and cultural significance of each destination. For example, not only did we visit a Shinto shrine, but Sam explained Shinto and Buddhism, and the different cultural practices from a local perspective (i.e. bowing before entering the Shrine). We walked away with so much new knowledge! Would highly recommend Sam and this tour!

Yasuko-san was so wonderful and she took great care to explain and take us around all the different part of Tokyo. We took our two boys who are 9 and 12 on the tour. They're good walkers so they managed to complete the tour despite the 20,000+ steps and heat. So if you have good walkers, the tour is possible for kids. For those who were tired, they just left the tour earlier so that's an option too. The nice thing is that the tour incorporates an hour+ lunch for a break and the sushi restaurant that Yasuko-san recommended was so fresh and good. Make sure to go to her recommended restaurant as it provides same level of good fish at Tsukiji market but at a better price. I highly recommend this tour to get a good grip of Tokyo on your first day.

This was such a great first day tour for Japan! Our tour guide Yasuko was so sweet!! We loved meeting the people in our group and going to the 10 must-see stops in Tokyo. Truly felt like we made the most of our day and we saw way more than we would've on our own throughout the various neighborhoods in Japan. We will be going back to places tomorrow that we would've loved to spend more time, but highly recommend this tour as a first day experience!

Great tour to see a lot of major sites in Tokyo. Our tour guide Sam was amazing! Only downside is that since you see so much, you don’t spend a lot of time at each site. I suggest doing the tour day 1 or 2 of your trip. You get a great introduction to getting around the city and using the subway.

This is a great activity when first arriving to Tokyo. You get lots of information about the city, learn how to navigate the AMAZING TRAIN SYSTEM, touch on all the “must sees”, as well as temple “etiquette” host was early and waiting for guests which made it easy and less stressful for us. This tour was all-inclusive. You hit a lot of great and well-known land marks. Our tour guide, Sam, was literally a human angel on earth and so, so kind. Even though we walked a lot, it felt productive and efficient. If you're on a time crunch, this is a great way to get a lot done at an affordable rate. The tour guide did not make us feel we walked 18,000 steps. I high recommend this tour!

We did this on our first day in Tokyo and it is so informative and allows you to get to see the highlights of Tokyo because it can be very overwhelming at first! Our tour guide was very nice and never made us feel rushed during the tour. He also taught us very well how to use the transit which was so incredibly helpful for Tokyo’s large transit system. Highly recommend if you don’t know where to go on your own in Tokyo. He will give plenty of recommendations to see as well if you need it!

Sam was such a thoughtful and kind host. He truly made our honeymoon trip to Tokyo so memorable by showing us so many great parts of the city in a day (honestly it didn’t even feel rushed). Our tour guide Michiko really looked after our group well. We visited lots of places within Tokyo and saw many sights of interest and learnt about the places we were visiting and had time to look around and spend time in the places too.
Lots of walking so make sure you have comfy shoes and check the weather before you to go make sure you’re wearing something warm/cool enough for Tokyo.

Sam is a great, friendly, and funny tour guide! It was planned out perfectly and while we walked a lot, it did not feel rushed. He made sure to walk at a comfortable pace. We saw so many different sites and learned a lot about Japanese culture, temple customs, and stories. This was a great way to see several of the main sights in Tokyo and a few different neighbourhoods. Sam was a wonderful guide who was well prepared and provided a lot of information about each stop. He made sure that we were able to navigate the subway system, fish market, and getting around the city. He spent time getting to know us and what we were interested to see/eat, so that he could make sure we would find it. He was easy to follow through the crowds and made sure to keep an eye on all of us so that we had time to stop for photos. Some of the traditions and customs I learned stayed with me and were helpful throughout other locations in Japan as well. A great comprehensive walking tour of the main sights of Tokyo. As a solo traveler with only a few days in Tokyo and a packed agenda this was the best way to see all these areas in the most efficient way, without having to worry about navigation or figuring out the subway lines. Sam was a great guide, full of positive energy and great points about all the sites we visited; he also taught us a lot about etiquette at shrines and temples which was very useful, as well as other insights into Japanese living. There was enough free time to leisurely explore areas like Tsukiji market and Akihabara. It was also good to meet fellow travelers on the tour, everyone was great. Overall this is a great activity for first day in Tokyo and to see many tourist sites at once. Be prepared for a lot of walking, we averaged 20000 steps by the end!

This is definitely the type of tour where you will want to go back again to some spots since there are only a couple spots you spend a decent amount of time in. I wouldn’t say it’s rushed but it is worth having that expectation in advance.

This was an amazing experience for newcomers to Tokyo to get a feel of what the entire city has to offer. I went on this tour solo, joined by a group of 3, with our guide, Sam. I had a wonderful time and made a new friend or two. Sam speaks great English and obviously knows a lot about his city, as well as his own culture to impart his knowledge to us.
We really got to see a bit of all the interesting parts of each neighborhood (city) so that we could come back again to the ones we're most interested in. Throughout the entire day, Sam made sure to take great photos (and he edited them for us as well!) and suggesting fun photo poses for us too.
I think the most valuable lessons were when Sam taught us about local customs -- from how to pray at a shrine to Japanese eating etiquette to something more socio-contemporary, like the types of adult nightlife that local male tend to go to (it's very obvious at night in Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ueno, so you'll definitely be curious).
All in all, I definitely appreciate Sam's tour and efforts and I recommend this tour for newcomers and also for travelers who made the mistake of committing too few days in the biggest city in the world!

I had a great tour with Sam! I saw lots and learned lots. I highly recommend doing this tour on your first or second day in Tokyo. You’ll learn how to use the public transit system, visit multiple neighborhoods, and see a number of Tokyo’s most popular attractions. Speaking of attractions, it was nice ending the tour at Sensō-ji Temple. I walked around the area after the tour was over and ate some delicious foods from the little shops and stalls around the temple. There is a lot of walking involved, so dress comfortably!

Fastastic tour around Tokyo. Highly recommended for first day, or other. We landed early in the morning and did the tour on our first day -- way to get sunshine to get over jetlag! Sam was a wonderful guide, very considerate, kind to our family. He showed us spots we wouldn't have seen without him, and explained details we wouldn't have noticed. We never would have been able to cover that ground on our own, not seen the same sights. He even took photos along the way and sent them to us within 24 hours. Highly recommended!

Sam was a great guide — well prepared with supplementary info / background on sights — also best shortcuts / amazing navigation of all the trains / metro transport we used to make best time and get to see all the sights. Quick and sure navigation was amazing. Great pace - kept it interesting for our varied group — a family with kids/ preteens , a Norwegian business traveler , and me , an experienced independent traveler. fantastic - but we did walk 17.000 steps so be ready !! I recommend 100% 👍

Such a fun way to get a highlight of Tokyo for the first day of your trip! I highly recommend this tour. It would have been daunting to try to create this itinerary for myself, but with Sam as our guide and storyteller, we were confident in where we were going, and getting a great overview of the history of some of the top temples, shrines, and tourist spots of Tokyo!

Don't hesitate, BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE! Best time is early in your Tokyo trip as the tour guide takes you to a lot of the popular spots and gives you great advice on where to get good food, souvenirs and even some japanese etiquette. We had an amazing time with Sam. It was great to have time to look around without having to use a map ourselves. He knew the city through and through. A magical experience, for sure! Sam was an impeccable guide during our walking tour. He was informative. He gave us an overview of our tour before starting. He was able to talk about the place we were visiting and even had good visual aids from his tablet to go along with it. He has great timing, always knowing when to introduce a place or concept depending on where we were. He also taught us about Japanese characters and connected it to what we were doing. It made us understand the culture more. He was also generous, treating us to a drink before we started. He was generous of his time as he extended over 4:30 pm just so he could bring us to our last stop. Sam was also mindful of what we wanted particularly the kids. When he realized that the kids were not very interested in the shrines or temples, he was able to adjust our itinerary to fit what they wanted. He took the best pictures always knowing when to take one and exactly what locations to take them in. Although our tour was tiring, yes over 18K steps, Sam did not once show any form of tiredness. He was upbeat the entire time. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely recommend this to our friends and family. Arigato gozaimasu Sam!

Our tour guide Sam was so great! Personable, friendly, easy to understand, and made the trip interesting and easy. Like they say in the event description, there is a LOT of walking involved so be prepared for some sore feet and wear some good walking shoes! Especially if it is one of your first few days in Tokyo, this is a great introduction to the main sights, some history, and a quick foreigner’s “how-to” of Japanese customs and etiquette. Highly recommend this trip to travelers, solo and groups alike!

I arrived to Tokyo yesterday so I had only visited one spot. It was nice to see soooo many new places in one day and have time to sit once in a while. Our guide was very very kind and wanted to make sure we were ok even if we walked a lot. If you’ve just arrived in Tokyo or don’t have a lot of time here, I recommend that tour! I likes all the places we went and it was nice not to have to check my phone to find the right subway or check a map every 2 minutes!!

Get your walking shoes ready as it will be a long day with a lot of walking but the tour is absolutely worth it. You get to see all the main attractions along with some historical facts that provide context to what once was and is today. This is a great experience for people travelling to Tokyo for the first time. I recommend doing it early in your stay so that you become familiar with the sights and public transit. My personal highlight was the fish market.

Super fun and smiley guide. Full of energy and always kept us safe and close together.
Meet up was easy and we were informed of each movement so never feel lost. Guide was helpful in all the questions we had and explained many local traditions.
He's very thoughtful. Prepared a small bag for us for minor rubbish, enough toilet breaks and coffee top off near the end.
All the main attractions were shown. I'm ready for a deep dive to some of the places we only touched. Great starter tour.

This experience was incredible! It was the perfect way to spend my first day in Tokyo and help get me comfortable with the city as the experience incorporates not only walking, but taking public transit as well. (Sam was great at helping explain the transit system while we waited for our trains.)
Sam was also incredibly kind and helpful in answering any questions and eager to show us all of the sites. You can tell he really enjoys his work and that translates to the way he explains the history behind everything. He left ample time at each site/attraction for us to explore and never rushed us. We packed so much into the day yet there was never a moment where I felt too fatigued or bored.
The itinerary covers quite a bit and makes a lot of sense in the way it was structured so you feel like you're getting the most out of your time. I would highly recommend this experience!

I had a great time ! Jun was super nice and sweet and very knowledgeable about all the sites .I’m a solo traveler and there ended up being a lovely couple a long with myself so it was 3 of us and Jun was amazing and even helped me to get on the Right station ! I would highly recommend ! you can go back to spots that you visited on the tour solo or if you’re traveling with someone else you can revisit those spots. Overall, I had a good time but highly recommend.

Our guide, “Sam” was incredible and also helped us get correct pass for the subway for rest of our trip and taught us many local customs and sayings. He also took pictures of us at every location, which is so hard to do when you are traveling alone. There is no way you can see all of this on your own and you would miss all the information from the lovely tour guides. Do not hesitate to book—especially for your first day!

If you have more days, do this on your first day so you know where you want to go back. It was a lot of walking but the pace was reasonable so we didn’t feel worn out. Michiko-San is a very nice person, a good story teller and takes very care of the clients. I was in the lucky position at this time to be the only guest. So everything was very flexible. We visited a great combination of spiritual places and the modern Tokyo.
Specially the little stories behind the story have been given a better picture of Tokyo and the culture of the people.
I really enjoyed each hour and could highly recommend this tour as it gives you a first view an Tokyo and makes you curious to explore more.

Prior to our tout we had great communication with JUN. The tour it self was wonderful. We had the tour at our first day and had a chance to see all “musts”. Our guide Michiko was so kind and wonderful. She showed us how to get along the metro and local stores. We had conversation about old times in Tokyo, new times, cultural insights, and we could ask her just anything we wanted to know. We saw and experiences so many things. I really recommend this tour.

My husband and I had a great time on the tour. We took the tour on our first full day in Tokyo. Jun was booked the day I wanted, but he sent Shun in his place and Shun was great. He showed us many things about Japan culture. Shun took many pictures for us at the different places we stopped off at. He took us to a delicious sushi restaurant for lunch and a fantastic izakaya for dinner, both places we wouldn’t have found on our own, shun translated the menu for us at both places. I highly recommend this tour.

Michiko was a fabulous tour guide! My favorite part of the tour were the special restaurants she took us to. I’d never be able to see them otherwise! I had the best sushi ever in a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. This was a big highlight of our trip!

Best way to see Tokyo with limited time! Yasuko was our amazing tour guide and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see in 1 day. There is no way our group could have navigated the metro system to see as many sights as we did with Yasuko! The restaurant we went to for lunch was very fresh and authentic. Highly recommend this tour!

I was the only one on this tour and it was amazing! My tour guide Michiko was extremely thoughtful and took pics. There’s many things we did and saw that I wouldn’t have known to do without her. Also, it made me more comfortable with the subway station for the rest of my time here. I suggest coming on your first day in Tokyo!
