3 Hours Short Homestay (Home Visit): Experience the Real Japanese Life
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan!
When you have the opportunity to come to Tokyo, we hope you enjoy sightseeing and very Japanese activities, and stay at a comfortable rooms.
Anyway, aren't you interested in "short homestay" (home visit)?
Instead of spending the night in our home, but how about spending just three hours together at home during the daytime?
Would you try experiencing real Japanese real daily life, and talking with us about what you are interested in?
The hosts of this experience are all warm-hearted and very Japanese.
We are not professional cooks, but we are rather good at preparing very common Japanese dishes.
Japanese cuisine may conjure up images of sushi and ramen, but these are rarely cooked at home.
Cook realistic, common Japanese dishes together.
The basic pattern of this activity is as follows.
1. Meet at a station
2. Take a walk, as we Japanese usually do, visit shrines and temples for local residents, not for tourists, or pass through parks and streams
3. Go on a shopping at a local, typical supermarket, or small groceries, just as we Japanese usually shop
4. Cook typical Japanese home-style dishes together (If there are foods you do not want to eat, please let us know when you make the reservation)
5. Eat together
6. Drinking Japanese tea or something, hosts introduce ourselves about work and life in Japan, or you please ask questions about what you are interested in about Japan
- Duration
- 3 hours

- <Location>
Each host's house is about 1 hour from the center of Tokyo.
In fact, many people who work in Tokyo live in areas that are doughnut-shaped relative to the center of Tokyo.
A few days before the day of the event, you will be informed of your host and the station where you will meet.

As a certified Japanese organic food sommelier, I have been offering a variety of events, for over 20 years.
Following the footsteps of my father who was a prominent movie poster artist, I've been involved in creating numerous movie posters as a graphic designer.
A snug house located in the seaside town in Kanagawa prefecture, is where your experience will take place. It will only take you about an hour from Tokyo station.
・(Ms.) Yuri
My husband is a Buddhist priest.
We live in a small temple in Taito Ward, Tokyo, where there is a concentration of Buddhist temples.
Of course, you can also visit Buddhist temples.
For this reason, dishes are prepared together with Buddhist vegetarian dishes. If you want, you can also make and drink Matcha.

In my youth, I have worked for numerous large Japanese companies. I now live in Kawaguchi City, in a typical modern house in Japan, with my cat. Let's check on the cats that live in the neighborhood, as it is routine for me.
And then, let's cook together at home, or if you like, I recommend going out to eat together at one of my regular restaurants. - What's Included

My friends and I really enjoyed spending time with Nobuko! She speaks perfect English and she is a really nice and caring person, but what really amazed us was her food! We had fun making lunch with her and then we ate the most delicious fish ever!!! Overall, a great experience, Nobuko is fantastic!
I booked this experience hoping to meet a local and get an authentic culinary experience, and that’s exactly what I received!! Nobuko, my host, picked me up from the train station and took me on a nice stroll through town under the Sakura blossoms. Her English is great and we were able to communicate perfectly. The meal we prepared was delicious and I’ll never forget the time I was able to share with Nobuko!
My home stay with Nobuko was amazing. We had a great time chatting about our lives while we prepared a lovely miso salmon meal at her home. If you are like me and love to see how locals live outside the tourist zones, this is the perfect experience.
Really enjoyed this experience - the cooking was simple enough that much of it could be replicated at home (which I certainly plan to do!), but the context provided throughout the process is what really made it special. It's in a beautiful location, slightly off the beaten path, but an easy walk from the subway station. The hosts couldn't have been kinder, and the temple was stunning. Highly recommend.
It’s a really spiritual experiences.
We cook with Yuuri in a small neighborhood temple. Yuuri not only show my their religion and culture but also their living style. And Michiko, she traveled more than one hour to do translation for us. Really appreciate their efforts. Nice experiences :)
