Yuka was a great host! She showed us around the Temple, food stalls, and garden at Tsukiji and we had a wonderful time trying different eats and fruit! Would recommend

Tsukiji Private Tour: Taste Your Favorite Food From 460 Stalls!
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan!
You may know Tsukiji area is one of the most popular tourist spots in Tokyo.
At Tsukiji fish market, about 460 street food stalls are waiting for you.
Tsukiji is truly a heaven for Japanese food, however, the problem is that there are so many stalls (and some of them offer the same type of food) that it is very difficult to find really delicious Ramen, Japanese beef, Sushi, Unagi, Japanese omelet, Sake, Mochi, Matcha sweets, etc.
Some of them are very wonderful totally, but some are not so good in quality. And several stores also offer “touristy” prices unfortunately.
In addition, when you arrive at Tsukiji, you will be disappointed to find long lines of people waiting in front of the famous stalls.
But don't worry!
Our guides all live in Tokyo, and we have explored, tried(tasted) and compared and evaluated food from many stalls in Tsukiji.
Moreover, if you have been on group food tours in other countries in the past, you have probably experienced long waits for food you did not want to eat. That's why this tour is a private tour.
In addition, if you have chance to come to Tsukiji all the way from your country, we hope you visit nice tourist spots around the market. As the professional tour guides, we would like to take you there.
Through this experience, not only eating delicious foods nor visiting tourist spots, but you may learn our society, custom, culture, history, beauty, lifestyle, etiquette, table manner, background, and way of thinking.

(Ms.) Yuka
I have lived in Tokyo for 10 years and live in a town about 10 minutes by train from Tsukiji.
My workplace is also located a 10-minute walk from Tsukiji, so Tsukiji is very close to me both publicly and privately.
I have studied in New York for three years.
I love traveling and eating out and have visited more than 20 countries so far.
In San Francisco, we enjoyed buckets of shrimp. The authentic Austrian Sachertorte was the best.
(Mr.) Toyo
My name is Toyohiko. Please call me "Toyo".
I was born weighing 4660g at Nerima Ward in Tokyo.
I learned how to swim before entering elementary school, and now I am on the teaching side.
At a height of 180cm, I was also the captain of the Volleyball Club when I was in junior high school.
(I have only grown 4cm more since then...)
It was in high school where experiencing American football changed my life a lot.
With a dream of "I want to play this sport!!" after graduating high school, I went to study as Valparaiso University in Indiana, USA.
While in college, I was the first Japanese player in the United States to record a Quarter-Back Sack (the equivalent of a home run in baseball) in the NCAA Offical Games.
However, my dreams could not match up against the size of America, and feeling my limits in American football, I decided to retire.
Even so, I still did not want to extinguish the burning fire of passion and after graduating from University, I returned home.
Soon after returning to Japan, I became the apprentice of a kickboxing star at the time and then worked as a professional kickboxer for 5 years.
When I retired in 2005, I opened a class to encourage children through English and sports.
I even showed off the bronze medal I won in a bobsleighing challenge to inspire the children by not just talking about the past, but by having something to charm them with in the present,
You can watch me on the first season of the Netflix show "Ultimate Beastmaster."
For this same reason, I also took became a Rickshaw tour guide in Asakusa.
There are similarities between the jobs of being an English teacher and being a tour guide.
It's a job where you can convey things that other people don't know into their point of view and enrich their minds.
We guide customers so that they can think, "This guide was good."
I will do my best to make the most of my English skills and provide the best time that will remain in the hearts of our customers.

Reviews
My son and I had a fabulous tour with the lovely Yukako. She took us to a variety of stalls not only to eat/sample but also anything that drew our eye, we were able to chat about. A thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended way to experience the market. This was only our second day in Japan so it was also good to chat about Japan in general as it’s our first time here.
The tour with Toyo was great! All the food he picked out for us to try was amazing. We also appreciated that we got to sit down a few times while eating with the amount of walking we have been doing each day. He was very knowledgeable about everything we asked about. This was so much better than if we had walked through by ourselves. Overall, one of the favorite things we have done while in Tokyo. 100% recommend. Also, bring more money than you think you need.
Yuka was an amazing guide. She expertly took us around to the very best food stalls. 100% some of the best food I have ever tasted. She was kind, personal and a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!
Awesome visit to Tsukiji Market with special food stops. Tour was nicely curated to match our desires with plenty of tasty surprises thrown in. Highly recommend. Tour timing was good and we packed in plenty of other sites that day.
My wife and I had an amazing experience with Yukako! She was so thoughtful in her planning and tailored the food stall options to our preferences so well. We shared lots of laughs and great stories while getting to experience the best quality food. Yukako also gave us a few other food spots based on areas we were planning on visiting. Thank you! This was a highlight of our trip!
Our tour guide was so warm. I felt comfortable and ready to explore right away. She listened to the types of foods we enjoyed and found us the best bites at the market. She was thoughtful about price and even helped us to strategically minimize our time waiting in line. She documented the experience and shared her personal experiences and cultural knowledge along the way. Do not hesitate to book this experience! It was a highlight of our trip!
Today, we had an incredible tour with Yuka at the Tsukiji market. She guided us through an amazing array of foods we were eager to try, including special tuna, various tuna nigiri, fish cakes, prawn crackers, grapes, grilled tuna, and candy. When I inquired about how hard it was to find decaf coffee, Yuka went above and beyond to surprise us by finding it. She also accompanied us to a department store and helped us choose gifts to take home. Spending time with her was a pleasure, and she was extremely accommodating. She really made the experience one we won’t forget. We wouldn't hesitate to book another Airbnb experience. This was our first, but certainly won't be our last.
We really enjoyed our time with Toyo. Outside of helping us find some of the best food we have had all trip (which shouldn’t be understated), he was very personable and learning more about his life enriched our understanding of Tokyo/Japan. As a couple of folks have mentioned, we offered to cover the food expense for Toyo as well, since being able to share meals together is a much more gratifying experience than asking your guide to watch as you eat (personal decision, either way.) Toyo showed us some areas that we likely never would have stumbled across, including the more wholesale market (which had some of the best tuna I have ever had) and a viewpoint from which to see Tokyo in a nearby commercial building. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Group of 4 with guide Toyo who was excellent. Very personable, organized and efficient. The Outer Market was very crowded and busy but Toyo made sure our food stops were seamless and with almost no wait. The food was amazing-fresh crab, oysters, octopus- all kinds of fresh fish and sushi and some wagyu beef. The ice cream for desert was other worldly. We would highly recommend this tour and this guide in particular.
Great experience! Yuka helped us find the best spots for the specific foods that we were looking for and consistently pointed us in the right direction over the three hours! She personalized the tour for us by only going to stalls with certain items we wanted and even waited in line for us once while we roamed around a bit! Amazing experience. Would definitely recommend
one of THE BEST tours we've ever been on. Toyo asked a lot of questions and it felt like he really tailored the experience to best fit us. Food was absolutely amazing!! Would definitely book this again next time we are in Tokyo!!!
It was a beautiful experience. If you plan to go to the market, booking a tour is a must as you will get to know all the best food stalls to try!!
Toyo made our Tsukiji fish market experience unforgettable, skillfully navigating us through crowds and managing our orders effortlessly. We were also pleasantly surprised by the tour's cultural highlights, such as visiting a temple and enjoying a panoramic view of Tokyo's skyline. Tokyo's guidance was invaluable, and we couldn't have imagined our trip to Japan without him.
Toyo was amazing! He is really knowledgeable about the temple he took us to, a cool place to see the skyline of Tokyo and also knowing all the best food stalls and snacks. Toyo really customized this tour to our interests and he has a super friendly personality that made this experience so lovely. This tour was a fantastic way to start our Japan trip. Thank you again Toyo!!
We had a wonderful time on our Tsukiji tour with our guide Yukako. Her English was great, and she was very warm and eager to show us everything. The experience is catered to what you want to eat and see. We were also able to go to a beautiful tea house for some matcha, which was an unexpected but beautiful surprise.
We had a wonderful morning with Toyo, who not only showed us Tsukiji market and its many flavors, but took us to some other interesting places in the area, customized to our interests. He is extremely knowledgeable about the places we saw and taught us a lot about Tokyo in general. Most of all, the tour was FUN! Come hungry - you won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Toyo!
We had such an amazing time with Toyo! He met us at the location on time and ready to go! He was very informative with a ton of fun facts about the areas surrounding the fish market. We didn’t realize we were also getting some temple history and a mini area review.. Toyo asked us everything we wanted to try and delivered. He stood in all the lines and negotiated the best prices.
Tip: since tipping isn’t a thing in Japan, we invited our guide to eat all the foods with us. It made the experience more fun and immersive. I felt bad for other guides around us just watching their guest eat all this delicious food!
This is a fantastic tour of the market. Yukako was very very friendly and fun to be with as she guided us to all of her favorite spots with the most delicious food. She asked what we liked and customized choices to align with our tastes. Incredibly delicious and fun! I can’t imagine navigating this market on my own without her help.
Une super façon de visiter le marché avec un guide attentionné et prévoyant. La visite du temple au début et la vue du 46e étage étaient de vrais plus. Les photos étaient superbes aussi : un excellent souvenir de notre visite. Merci pour tout Toyo !
Yukako-san was such a great guide through Tsukiji Market! With her guidance, we got to taste so many amazing snacks. As a first-time visitor to Japan, seeing the number of stalls in the market is completely overwhelming so it would’ve been so difficult to know which places were worth going to. Yuka gave us a lot of options and gave us helpful guidance to decide what was worth waiting for to maximize our tour time. She also helped my husband find a great knife stand to add to our cooking knife set! She was incredibly personable, so the tour truly felt like hanging out with a friend at a lively farmers market on a Saturday. Highly recommend this tour!
Toyo was an incredible guide, he took us to a local temple and provided us the historical context which helped set the scene for the market. Then he took us to incredible food spots which we all left very stuffed and happy. We have been talking about this food tour for the duration or our trip! Would highly recommend!
We were blown away by this tour! Yuka was amazing, her suggestions at the food market were the best of the best-- what she had us try was as good (if not better) then some very expensive omakase meals we had on our trip. She was so sweet and thoughtful in organizing the tour schedule! It was an awesome experience!!!
Väldigt bra tour där vi förutom marknaden fick se tempel och andra områden runt omkring fiskmarknaden. Engagerad guide som satt på mycket kunskap.
This was amazing experience with my guide Toyo! I got to try several dishes I would’ve never known to ask about and he made sure to point out what dishes I should try based on my preferences!
Toyo was amazing. Made us feel very welcome. His insights into local vendors were invaluable. We didn't have to rely on luck to find great food. He gave us a deep dive into Japanese culture.
Toyo is an amazing guide. He was especially good with children. We would definitely do it again.
Thank you Toyo!

This is an amazing tour with details and worth the time and money! We had Toyo as a guide and he is such a warm wonderful person and guide.
Thank you so much!

My husband and I LOVED this tour day! We would never have decided to try some of the foods that Jun ordered for us. (And everything was awesome.) The day was well-planned, with many locations that he knew he would take us to. I never felt bored nor did I feel rushed. We were pleasantly surprised that Jun brought us to extra, non-food-specific sites (temples, parks, markets) and shared general history and educational notes with us that we would not have gotten without a guide. He is so accommodating and friendly, and cares about providing a good experience. We will remember this forever and have told everyone about it.
This was our first experience and a great start to our week long Tokyo trip. We met with Toyo, who was attentive to our needs and took a lot of care to personalize our tour on the spot. My wife mentioned that she loves ikura and he made sure to include that during our stops. He took beautiful photos of us in a variety of settings and even carried the snacks we purchased. We have so many fond memories from this tour. All around great host, attentive to details and highly recommended!
The tour was excellent! We had a very customized experience with great food! Also our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Japan / Tokyo! Highly recommend!
Yukako was a fantastic guide. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. She also spoke fluent English, and shared lots of interesting stories about the area. Would recommend!
Very fun experience! Enjoyable walking around with a local and eating nice food!
Thank you to Toya for giving a great tour. We always love connecting with a local and learning from them.
Toyo was an excellent guide. We loved hearing special stories from a local and we tried some great food and sake. It was a great way to experience the market and nearby sites without feeling overwhelmed and I liked how he gave suggestions of what to eat but he tailored it to our taste buds. Toyo is also an excellent photographer 🙂
