My two friends and I went to a tea ceremony at 10 am and it was the perfect way to start the day! The host was extremely friendly and spoke a ton of English. She gave us a tour of the temple before the ceremony and it was so beautiful! She told us the history of their temple and their town so we could really appreciate the setting before we started the tea ceremony. A priest came to perform the ceremony, and the host talked us through the meaning of it as it went on. We loved the whole experience. Our host especially made the experience special since she was so kind and fun to talk to. We felt like very valued guests! Highly recommend!

Reviews
A really exceptional and unique experience. It was great that to join this tea ceremony which was authentic, personal and touching.
The tea ceremony was led by 2 passionate ladies who were incredibly knowledgeable about the Tea Ceremony (Sado). They first demonstrated it and then invited us all to lead it ourselves. They had the curtesy of bringing a translator for me and the experience expanded beyond Tea and towards explaining the concept of Do and how the Tea Ceremony, like many traditional Japanese practices, is mostly about building the mind. It was a great experience spent with remarkable people.
The Tea Ceremony is a must try experience in Japan. The session was very informative and the meeting place was peaceful. Our instructor was mindful and gave us detailed instructions on how to perform the art of tea ceremony as he used proper tools and explained the process and the history behind it. Overall, we enjoyed our time as we practiced the tea ceremony ourselves.
We had a beautiful day, full of new experiences, stories and tastes. Our host was absolutely wonderful, his knowledge and wisdom seemed endless and we felt very welcome.
This was an amazing opportunity to learn more about tea ceremonies in such a beautiful, serene environment. Although we had to travel a little bit from the centre of Tokyo, the temple was very easy to find, and was breathtakingly beautiful. The garden and tea room had been prepared so carefully for us, and we felt extremely welcomed. It was fascinating to learn not only about the ceremony, but about the history, and to see tea bowls that were hundreds of years old. It was very relaxed and we felt able to ask questions and learn everything that we could. It was a wonderful, one of a kind experience.
